1. One Hyde Park
The main penthouse at One Hyde Park fetched a record reported price tag of about £140 million (£7,000/sqft) offering the owner one of the most luxurious and impressive penthouses built around the globe in the last twenty years. The now world famous development led by Candy & Candy is located in a ultra prime location in Knightsbridge with the serenity of Hyde Park to the North and Knightsbridge’s world famous luxury shopping offering to the South. A stone throw away from One Hyde Park, the penthouse also has views over Hyde Park and the historic Knightsbridge village. The penthouse resident has access to the hotel’s staff and the luxury services, including a spa offering Bvlgari treatments for the face and body, a 25 meter pool, hydrotherapy steam rooms and a private screening room. The penthouse reportedly sold to a buyer from the CIS for about £100 million pounds shortly after the One Hyde Park sale. The sales figure is said have achieved between £6,000 to £7,000 per square foot. A second penthouse unit in the development is still said to be available for a £69 million price tag.
3. The Lansbury Penthouse
The Lansbury, an elegant eight-story, 15,000 square foot development by Finchatton, is situated at Basil Street on Harrods doorstep in Knightsbridge. The penthouse itself is 3,000 square feet in size with floor to ceiling windows giving sight to views over West London. Similar to One Hyde Park, cutting-edge technology has been integrated allowing residents to control temperature to music at the touch of a button. The interior consists of high quality material including silk, cashmere, wool and solid oak. Distinctively different from the other apartments in the building, many objects, fine art and sculptures were hand sourced by the design team to give the penthouse a unique character. When it comes to services, residents have full access to The Capital Hotel’s concierge, valet and housekeeping services with the added benefit of being allowed the use of the gym, bar and restaurant. Security is also listed as being of utmost importance with controlled video entry-phone systems, restricted elevator use, and Redcare-monitored intruder alarm protection. The Penthouse was sold 24 hours later after it was put on the market selling for a reported £12.5 million achieving about £4,400 per square foot.
4. The Knightsbridge
Close by to the West of Bvlgari Hotel with views of Hyde Park and a five minute walk away from Harrods, The Knightsbridge also sits in a ultra prime location. There are 7 unique penthouses at The Knightsbridge known as the Crown Jewels. An 8,000 square foot penthouse was being sold off plan for around £18 million, roughly twice the price for the going per square foot price in the area in 2002. The penthouse itself has a 2,900 square foot terrace overlooking Hyde Park. The top floors of the development houses the impressive 7,320 square foot penthouse which also features a glass house structure. Security at 21 Chesham Place involves a smart system wiring that allows residents to regulate and control anything from lighting to external doors. A category five security system is also installed, which includes movement detectors, panic buttons, CCTV, access control and intruder alarms in each of the apartments.
